Dewani was transferred from Dhaka to Muksudabad in 1704 AC. After the name of Murshid Quli Khan the name of Muksudabad was changed and it became Murshidabad. He was appointed as the Subader of Bengal in 1717 AC. He was awarded with a special title from the emperor of Delhi Farrukh Siyar after providing him a huge amount of nazrana(tribute). Responsibility of Subader and Dewani were provided to him at first to break the Mughal ruling system. Hence, the nawabs could rule over Bengal almost freely. Nawab Murshid Quli Khan died in 1727 AC. His monument is situated under the stair-way of the famous Katra Mosque till now. After his death his son in law Suja Uddaula ruled over Bengal from 1727 to 1739 AC. After Suja Uddaula his son Sarfaraz Khan ruled from 1939 to 40 AC. Nawab Alivardi Khan defeated him in the battle of Giria and captured the throne of Bengal. He governed from 1740 to 1756 AC. His previous name was Mirza Muhammad Ali. His progenitors lived in Khorasan province and they were Afsar Turkey descendants. Alivardi Khan was very prudent , skillful about battle and smart as well. The historians described his governing era as more glorious. " The nawabs didn't became torturers to the citizens. They were well known that the citizens were the source of thier influence and the existence of the nawabs was depended on the goodness and development of the citizens."
It's seen in the perspective of social responsibility and history that history is not written  but someone is compelled to write. History is now imaginative, made up and order based. Hence controversy exists there. In this point of view the famous contemporary historian Irfan Habib says " There's no detriment if we don't know history but to know  the distorted history is dangerous to the society and the nation".
The illumination of the historian Akshay Kumar Maitreya in his book about the Nawab period "Siraj Ud-daula" is remarkable: " Nawab didn't shame to introduce him as a Bengali. Bangladesh became his own land and the Bengali became his own nation. The treasures of the treasury were preserved in Bangladesh and the Bengali was thoroughly paid a part of the treasures in lieu of their goods and labour. The currency of the state was preserved inside the state, it was not ever banished far away."
At that period of time Murshidabad was highly developed in peace and order, political stability, trade and industrial matters, architecture, painting and culture. In this respect Professor Dr. Sushil Choudhari said in the conclusion of his book "Nababi Amole Murshidabad"(Murshidabad in the period of the Nawabs), " It can be said that free nawab period was the golden era of murshidabad."
An ambiance of harmony and good relationship in the people of various religions in the period of nawabs is mentionable. Temples, Churches and mosques were seen peaceful here and there. Even if the courtiers belonged to various religions, they had no antipathy in dignity and administrative power. "At all events, communal harmony in the day-to-day life of the citizens of Murshidabad were highly mentionable. "
Most of the Mughal emperors of Delhi enjoyed in the festival of colour i.e Holi. Emperor Akbar, Jahangir, Begum Nurjahan and others celebrated Holi. The other name of Holi was Eid E Golani in the period of emperor Shahjahan. Except that, Doljatra, Holi, Muharram, festival of floating of the rafts were celebrated without cast and creed in that period. Many eminent concord ceremonies were arranged. Nawab Alivardi Khan, Nawazish Khan, Shaukat Jang and Sirajuddaula celebrated Holi with glee. Hirajheel Palace of Nawab Sirajuddaula was decorated in the times of  various festivals. Good relationship and Harmony were important tradition.
Historical Murshidabad was the centre of Bangla, Bihar and Odisha i.e Subah of Bengal. Sirajuddaula was the last  free nawab. His father's name was Zainuddin Ahmed Khan and his mother was Amina Begum. Sirajuddaula took birth in 1733 AC in Purnia, controversially in Rajmahal.
